The French Revolution was a time much like the American Revolution. The French Revolution began in 1789 and ended in 1799. The Revolution was fought because there was not equality amongst the people in France. The higher class in France were not required to pay taxes and received many more privileges than the lower class and the upper class was not willing to give up those privileges. Also, the government was running low on money due to fighting in the European Seven Years' War and in the Revolutionary War in America.
